The Art Of Charm - Dating & Confidence!

The Art Of Charm - Dating & Confidence! - Melissa Allen Mood Essentials

Dating can be a nerve-racking experience.  Whether you’re hanging out casually – Are we just friends - Maybe more?

Or you have a 7pm reservation at a fancy restaurant….This definitely feels like a date….

All of this with the pressure of trying to act natural while hoping he or she laughs at your jokes. Spending one-on-one time with someone you’re interested it can be both exciting and stressful.

So next time you find yourself getting fifty shades of nervous before a first date, try one (or all) of the below tricks to help keep your mind stay calm, heart strong and give your  confidence a boost!

Be Yourself – Without Overthinking It
Whether you’re contemplating what you should do with your hands or what food you should order (that won’t’ get stuck in your teeth), it’s easy to get caught up in overthinking things you usually don’t think twice about.  Before you begin spiralling into this stressful mindset, take a deep breath.

There’s a reason your date wants to get to know you more, and it has everything to do with who you are and nothing to do with how you almost tripped up the stairs in front of him or her (it happens).

Be yourself – make your sarcastic comments and don’t hold back when you talk about things that matter to you.  The people who are right for you will not only recognise who you are, but appreciate you for being just that.

Looking Good = Feeling Good
Feel confident on the inside and the outside.  Invest in a couple of hot date outfits that make you feel and look amazing.  Choose something that makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Be Curious And Ask Questions
Many times, when wer’re nervous and not feeling very confident, two things tend to happen.  We either shut down completely, or we talk incessantly.  The purpose of the date is to get to know each other  - so if you’re feeling nervous at first – remember to be curious and ask your date open-ended questions.  Do things that can help kickstart the conversation before you know it, you’ll probably forget your nervousness and jump into sharing more too.

Be Vocal About The Meeting Spot
When you and your date are deciding where to meet, take the reigns and recommend a place that works for you and your comfort level.

For instance, if you’re into a rocking trendy bar or love a swanky martini lounge, recommend a great place you know.  Or maybe you’re a walk in the park kind of gal or guy, or know an amazing quaint café that is quiet and an ideal location to chat and sip some lattes.  No matter the location, going somewhere you already know and like can be ideal if you want to set the bar for being comfortable and in a place you know you’ll feel confident.

Spritz And Feel Happy
Not only smell great but feel great as well, come date night…With hundreds of fragrances on the market right now, chances are your intimate friend has already smelled the likes of the common perfume classics, as well as some of those modern fragrance offerings, that everyone seems to be spraying…..
